I have about 13 years of experience building large scale backend systems, of which first two years were spent in NetApp, working on Data Backup and Restore engine in their propriety storage operative system - Data Ontap. Helped build a new algorithm for data restore along with some of my awesome colleagues, which was granted a US patent. After 2 years of kernel level C programming, I joined Flipkart to experience large scale internet systems. I ended up spending about 10 years (~9.5 actually, but 10 is cool!), working across discovery, merchandising, ads and fintech systems (in super.money, a Flipkart group company). Learnt a lot and is a proud Flipster for life.
Currently, I work as a Senior Architect at Zepto, the fastest growing quick commerce platform in India. I see myself as someone who is helping Zepto go through their 10-100 scaling journey. I work across systems in the users' order placing journey - search and discovery, recommendations, offers, cart, orders and payments. It has been fun till now.
I am trying to prepare myself for the world where majority of economic value would come through AI. I am particularly interested in fine-tuning open source models and LLM inference techniques. I am still early in my learning journey and this blog is primarily focused on documenting it.
